What is the Level 2 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Gym Based Exercise?

Key elements of the qualification include how to work with clients, how to plan and deliver gym-based exercise sessions, and the underpinning essentials of anatomy, physiology and fitness training. Our tutors will make sure you build a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to build on as you progress within the industry.

- Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity (file work)
- Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment (file work)
- Principles of exercise, fitness and health (exam)
- Planning gym-based exercise (file work)
- Instructing gym-based exercise (practical exam with a working client)
Entry requirements
No formal entry requirements. Some gym experience, including free weights, is strongly recommended. The course involves physical exertion, so a degree of physical fitness is needed. Communication skills at Level 2 minimum.
How you're assessed
Six units: two exams, three file-work units and one practical exam with a working client.
Where it takes you
A direct pathway into gym instructor roles in the UK and internationally, and onto Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications.
