What is the Level 3 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Personal Training?
The natural progression of a career in fitness continues here. This industry-recognised qualification builds the enhanced skills and knowledge base you need to coach real clients: applying the principles of nutrition, programming training across a real eight-week case study, and delivering personal training sessions on the gym floor.
It also includes Business Acumen — a unit on how to set up, run and scale your personal training business, covering the basics of the business beyond the gym floor.
What you'll study
- Anatomy and physiology for exercise and health (exam)
- Applying the principles of nutrition to a physical activity programme (case study and theory exam)
- Programming personal training with clients (real-life case study over an eight-week predictive period)
- Delivering Personal Training Sessions (practical exam with a working client)
- Business Acumen (setting up, running and scaling a PT business)
Entry requirements
A Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing.
How you're assessed
A case study over an eight-week period, a portfolio of evidence, a practical demonstration, an assignment, coursework and a multiple choice exam.
Where it takes you
Level 4 Strength and Conditioning, and the Level 3 Award in Nutrition for Physical Activity.
